(November 24, 2017) — Cavagna North America Inc. (Somerset, N.J.) recently promoted two senior managers. Peter Dwyer has been named vice president of sales and business development of the LPG division, and David S. Ellis has been promoted to vice president of sales and business development of the Compressed Gas division.

Dwyer, who joined Cavagna in 2015, was most recently LPG sales manager. He has played an integral role in leading the company’s growth to include establishing a network of distribution partners to better serve customers.

Ellis has been with Cavagna since 2000, and served for the past 13 years as vice president of sales and marketing. He has been involved in the compressed gas equipment market for 30 years, making him well-qualified to lead this high growth division as it develops advanced products for the compressed gas markets.

Cargas Systems (Lancaster, Pa.) has made two management promotions in its Energy Division to support its recent growth. Dennis DiSabatino, formerly director of sales for the Energy division, was promoted to vice president. He will focus on managing the sales and professional services teams within the Energy division that are responsible for the sale of Cargas Energy software, as well as the implementation and support functions. His emphasis will include continuing to grow the Cargas brand in new territories and markets nationwide, and implementing process improvements to allow for future growth. DiSabatino joined Cargas in 2003, and has more than 18 years of experience in technology and software sales.

Rocky Bare, formerly a sales consultant with Cargas, will take over DiSabatino’s position as sales manager of the Energy Division. In his new role, Bare will oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales team, coordinating the efforts of the sales consultants, product specialists, and account managers. The sales team is responsible for establishing relationships with new Cargas customers, as well as working with existing customers. Prior to joining Cargas in 2015, Bare spent 12 years at a Fortune 200 company in a variety of positions, including account management, sales finance, corporate account management, and channel development.

The Texas Propane Gas Association recently elected its board of directors for 2017-2018. John Walter of Schneider Distributing (San Angelo) will serve as president; Jack Walzel, Tri-Co Propane (Rogers), president elect; Harris Baker, Pinnacle Propane (Irving), secretary; and Josh McAdams, McAdams Propane (Center), treasurer/finance chair.

People MeyersWarren J. Meyer, partner and owner of Diversco Inc. (Plainfield, N.J.) with John B. Tarantin Jr., passed away Aug. 25. He was 93. The two men formed the LP-gas equipment distribution company to serve propane dealers and welding supply distributors in the mid-Atlantic and New England states. They were partners in Diversco from 1968 until 1985, when they sold the business to the Nicholson family of Eastern Propane in Oak Ridge, N.J.; in 1989, it was sold to the Murray family of Ray Murray Inc. (Lee, Mass.). Mr. Meyer retired when the business was sold to Eastern Propane.

Prior to working at Diversco, he was with Shell Oil Co. in South America; was a Northeast territory sales manager for Fisher Governor Co. (Marshalltown, Iowa); and later was employed by Fisher Controls Co. (McKinney, Texas).

People PriceDiana L. Price, a longtime member of the propane industry, passed away on Aug 29. She was 63. Ms. Price had worked in the industry since 1979, holding positions as office manager, district manager, wholesale sales representative, and, most recently, area sales manager for AmeriGas. In addition, for 12 years she worked as a director of field services for the National Propane Gas Association in Washington, D.C.
