Epic Midstream Holdings LP (San Antonio, Texas) said June 27 it had completed Phase 2 construction on its Epic Natural Gas Liquids Pipeline. The line, when completed, will run from the Permian Basin to Corpus Christi, Texas. Epic reports that 205 miles of the 700-mile pipeline is in operation between DLK Black River Midstream’s plant in the Permian and Benedum, Texas.
The Phase 2 completion came less than three months after Epic finished Phase 1 of the line. Work continues of the final phase, which will stretch from Benedum to Corpus Christi. The NGL pipeline is now connected to five natural gas processing plants. The Epic NGL Pipeline will have a throughput capacity of more than 440,000 bbld with multiple origin points in the Delaware and Midland basins.
Epic began construction in December 2017 after signing an agreement with BP Energy Co. to anchor the pipeline, which will link producers’ NGL reserves in the Permian and Eagle Ford basins to Gulf Coast refiners, petrochemical companies, and export markets. Epic was formed last year to build, own, and operate midstream infrastructure in both the Permian and Eagle Ford. It’s first two projects, the Epic Crude Oil Pipeline and the Epic NGL Pipeline, run side by side and deliver into Corpus
Christi.
In addition, Epic Midstream also said it had contracted with Houston-based Optimized Process Designs LLC to provide engineering, procurement, and construction services for its first 100,000-bbld fractionation train. The NGL pipeline is backed by capital commitments from funds managed by Area Management LP.
