Energy Distribution Partners (EDP) has announced the acquisition of ProGas, which serves more than 3,500 customers throughout the greater Pittsburgh area from offices in Aliquippa and Zelienople. ProGas was launched in 2000 and provides propane services across western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia.
In addition to providing propane to both residential and commercial customers, ProGas provides temporary heat for construction contractors, industrial gas for commercial businesses and autogas for fleets.
Energy Distribution Partners CEO Tom Knauff said, “We are extremely pleased that ProGas chose EDP as its partner to transition the company for its next chapter. President Ron Schramm and Co-owner Tom Kniss have built an excellent business with a reputation for safety and top-quality customer service. We welcome their employees to EDP and look forward to continuing to provide exceptional service to their customers.”
Schramm said, “When we knew it was time to sell our business, we wanted to find the right company … one that would continue taking good care of our employees, our customers and the communities we serve. We are confident EDP was the right choice.”
EDP is actively seeking to expand its national footprint and diversify through the addition of new retail propane and midstream operations.
