Raleigh, North Carolina — The North Carolina Propane Education and Research Foundation (NCPERF) and the Georgia Agricultural Commodity Commission for Propane (GACCP) announced that they will continue to offer Double Rebates for purchases of propane appliances as part of Hurricane Helene relief efforts. Double Rebates have been extended until April 30, 2025, or while funds last.

“After witnessing Hurricane Helene devastate many communities across our state, the GAACCP aimed to assist our fellow Georgians in their home rebuilding efforts. By doubling the rebates for propane appliances, we hoped to provide Georgians with an affordable way to install propane-powered furnaces and water heaters in their homes. We can’t fully grasp the financial and emotional toll Hurricane Helene inflicted on Georgia families. While we can’t reverse the hurricane's damage, we are dedicated to supporting those who must rebuild with some financial relief during this crucial time,” said Raleigh Garrett, GACCP chairman and of G&S Gas Services Inc.

The decision to extend the double rebates for Hurricane Helene relief was made to:

  • Provide continued support: The extension aims to offer ongoing assistance to residents recovering from the hurricane's significant damages.
  • Encourage rebuilding efforts: Doubled rebates will greatly aid in facilitating homeowners to invest in repairs and upgrades, accelerating the recovery process and boosting the local economy.
  • Address ongoing needs: The initial rebate program demonstrated a high demand and revealed that the initial timeframe was insufficient for many residents to complete necessary repairs.

NCPERF vice-chair and EVP of fuel & propane operations for Berico Fuels, Inc., Lenny Hall said, “NCPERF hopes that the continued support of the double rebate program will assist residents in the hurricane-affected area and demonstrate the dedication and commitment of North Carolina Propane Dealers to the communities, friends and families who have supported them throughout the years.”

John Jessup, president and CEO of SEPA, said, “We know these double rebates will help those devastated by the hurricane build back better with reliable, energy-efficient propane appliances! Visit propanenorthcarolina.com to explore the seven available rebates!”
