Alliance AutoGas said in mid-February that its engineered fuel equipment segments showed highly positive results and a substantial upswing in sales in 2015, including low-emissions nozzle adoption and the number of gallons of gasoline displaced. Stuart Weidie, president of Alliance AutoGas, reports that in 2015 alone the 120 alliance members collectively displaced 45 million gallons of gasoline and produced $54 million in fuel cost savings for the 460 fleets they serve.

“The alliance engineered equipment segment experienced a 44% increase in overall sales in 2015,” said Ed Hoffman, president of Blossman Services Inc. “This growth is fueled by many variables, including vehicle platform focus and our world-class plug-and-play engine conversion system design.” Equipment sales were for commercial fleet vehicles such as the new Ford Transit, Ford F Series, Isuzu NPR, and Dodge Caravan and Charger.

“Our sales growth can also be linked to product design,” added Hoffman. “Alliance’s simplified wiring and autogas injection technologies put Alliance in the forefront of conversion installations. Everything is bracketed and designed to be installed without any cutting, drilling, or fabrication. The system does not require any permanent vehicle modifications. Unlike previous-generation conversion kits that would require upward of 15 hours to install and a lot of field engineering, our newer systems are being installed in well under six hours.” He noted that fuel systems also showed a lower warranty incident rate with a more consistent installation of plug-and-play equipment.

Alliance AutoGas said safe connect, low-emission nozzles, adapters, and accessories continue to resonate with fleets throughout North America. Introduced in December, the ultra-low-emission autogas fueling nozzle includes adapters, connectors, caps and K-15 valves. Full distribution was begun in February with acceptance and approval by fleets currently using autogas and also the propane industry as a whole.

The Alliance AutoGas network began installing the new connector and using the new low-emission nozzle for all new autogas installations in 2015. Installations have been completed by Superior Energy, Bergquist Inc., Rutherford Equipment, and Blossman Services. According to the Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center, there are 2700 propane autogas fueling stations in the U.S. alone, in addition to Alliance AutoGas’s 460 fleet locations. “We are working at a high level in 2016 and are committed to improvement at every step of our evolving production development,” said Weidie.
