Alliance AutoGas is pursuing a California Air Resources Board (CARB) certification for the 2016 Ford Transit, commenting that official Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) testing has demonstrated a 13% reduction in CO2 and a 33% reduction in methane emissions. EPA has identified these as the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions.

“The Ford Transit platform has already become Alliance AutoGas’s most popular bi-fuel propane autogas product,” said Ed Hoffman of Alliance AutoGas. “With our sales success on the 2015 model, our customers are anxious for a 50-state solution. There has been no precedent set for a light-duty bi-fuel autogas vehicle to obtain CARB approval. The emissions requirements and advanced diagnostic requirements have been a great hurdle. Our engineering group has conducted an extensive feasibility study, and we believe our advanced technology can meet these technical hurdles.”

Alliance AutoGas is accepting orders for its 49-state 2016 Ford Transit. With a five-year, 100,000-mile warranty and a complete plug-and-play conversion solution, the vehicle helps fleets reduce their fuel expense and meet sustainability initiatives. Certifications are secured by Blossman Services Inc. (BSI), the equipment distributor for Alliance AutoGas. BSI is the exclusive U.S. distributor and manufacturer of record for EPA and CARB certifications on behalf of Alliance AutoGas and its members.
