West Palm Beach, Fla. (June 20, 2024) — Blue Peak Resources, a merger and acquisitions consulting firm, announced the sale of Wrightington Gas Incorporated of Kingston, Massachusetts, to Spicer Propane of Groton, Connecticut.

In 1950, Arthur Wrightington and his wife Josephine established Wrightington Bottle Gas. Their son Kevin worked hand-in-hand with his parents until he acquired the business from them in 1989 and changed the name to Wrightington Gas Inc. Under Kevin’s leadership, the business took off, and soon his wife Linda left her job to join her family in their business venture. They made quite the team, growing the business through word of mouth, referrals and moving billboards all over the South Shore of Massachusetts. Years later, Kevin and Linda’s son Stephen and daughter Stephanie, who also worked at Wrightington, continued to create a model company with outstanding service, excellent customer retention and long-term, well-trained employees.

“It was an extremely difficult decision to sell our family business,” said Kevin Wrightington. “But we received exceptional guidance from the Blue Peak team. They made it easy and understood how important it was to find the right buyer. We are very pleased to know that our employees, customers and community will be in good hands with Spicer Propane.”

“We are excited about expanding our footprint into the South Shore of Massachusetts and continuing to provide Wrightington’s customers with the quality of service they are accustomed to,” stated Jon Holstein, vice president, Spicer Propane.

“Kevin and Linda have built a remarkable business,” praised John Armentano, partner, Blue Peak Resources. “Having known them for over 20 years, it has truly been an honor to represent them. We at Blue Peak take great pride in helping our clients reach their personal and professional goals, and I couldn't be more pleased that Spicer Propane will continue Wrightington’s legacy. It's great to see two incredibly well-run family businesses come together.”

Blue Peak Resources, an advisor to Wrightington Gas Inc., served as the facilitator and negotiator of the sale.
