During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, decreased as we near the end of spring. The posted prices decreased 17.326 cents/gal, from April mid-month to May mid-month while the spot prices decreased 16.5 cents. Conway, Kan., postings ended with a 15.85-cent decrease and spots decreased 15.75 cents over the month.
Mont Belvieu Postings
The Mont Belvieu mid-April posted price was 90.956 cents/gal. The next week the price decreased by 4 cents to 86.956 cents, followed by a 12.084-cent decrease to 74.872 cents the first week of May. Prices then increased 3.675 cents to land at 78.547 the next week. At mid-month, postings decreased 4.917 cents to land at 73.630 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in May 2022, the May 2023 prices were 58.376 cents lower.
Conway Postings
The Conway mid-April posted price was 86.098 cents/gal. The next week the price decreased by 4.6 cents to 81.498 cents, followed by a 11.7-cent decrease to 69.798 cents the first week of May. Prices then increased 4.1 cents to land at 73.898 the next week. At mid-month, postings decreased 3.65 cents to land at 70.248 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in May 2022, the May 2023 prices were 55 cents lower.
Mont Belvieu Spots
Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-April period at 79.500 cents/gal. The next week the price fell by 5.125 cents to 74.375 cents, followed by a 10-cent decrease to 64.375 cents the first week of May. Prices then increased 1.375 cents to land at 65.750 the next week. At mid-month, they fell 2.75 cents to land at 63.000 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in May 2022, the May 2023 prices were 53.25 cents lower.
Conway Spots
Conway spots opened the mid-April period at 79.250 cents/gal. The next week the price fell 5.75 cents to 73.500 cents, followed by a 9.25-cent decrease to 64.250 cents the first week of May. Prices then increased 0.25 cents to land at 64.500 the next week. At mid-month, they fell another 1 cent to land at 63.500 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in May 2022, the May 2023 prices were 52 cents lower.
