Brookneal, Virginia — As part of its FosterGives initiative and the company's centennial celebration, Foster Fuels and the Watt Foster Family Foundation will be awarding 100 scholarships to its customers as part of a one-time scholarship giveaway. Applications are being accepted now through May 31, 2021.
"Children's education is vital to the success of our community, and we have been fortunate to serve so many young people and their families over the past 100 years,” said Jennifer Bryant-Foster, vice president at Foster Fuels and trustee of the Watt Foster Family Foundation. “We only turn 100 once and wanted to do something big for our loyal customers by offering 100 scholarships."
To be eligible, applicants must be a Foster Fuels customer or a dependent of one, actively attending high school, and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Click here to apply. Two values of the company's FosterGives initiative are community involvement and children's education.
Some of Foster's other philanthropic actions include donating 500 acres of land to become a children's outreach camp, Christmas donations to over 23 elementary and high schools, and the Spread the Warmth campaign, which collected 903 coats in 2020.
