Casey Cramton, Dead River CompanySouth Portland, Maine (May 12, 2022) – Dead River Company will soon be under new leadership as its current chief operating officer, Casey Cramton, becomes president and CEO.

Thirty-six years after first walking through the doors, Deanna Sherman has announced she will retire as president and CEO at the end of June and transition to the role of senior advisor. Cramton has over 35 years of experience at Dead River Company and will officially become president and CEO on July 1.

“I could not be more pleased that Casey will become the new president and CEO,” said Sherman. “Throughout his career, which started in 1989 as a manager trainee, Casey has always been ready and eager to take on more responsibility. His leadership and experience within both the industry and company earned him his appointment to COO when I became president in 2016."

“I am certain Casey will bring a fresh perspective to the office, and under his guidance, Dead River Company will continue to serve our customers and our communities just as we always have,” she continued.

Cramton is a United States Army veteran and a graduate of the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire.

“The faith Deanna has shown in me, and the commitment all Dead River employees give to this company and our customers make it exciting to come to work every day,” said Cramton. “Deanna has done an exemplary job of leading this organization, most recently through the pandemic. We have continued to grow, while remaining true to our motto of ‘delivering on a promise’ to our customers and the communities we serve.”
