Greenkraft Secures EPA, CARB Certifications for Propane, CNG
Southern California-based Greenkraft has received both Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board certifications for 2016 vehicles with CNG- or propane-powered 6.0-liter engines from General Motors. Greenkraft offers both Isuzu NPR trucks converted to the alternative fuels and its own vehicles based on imported chassis.
Greenkraft’s CNG or propane autogas upfits of model year 2016 Isuzu NPR trucks, including crew cabs, are now certified for sale in all 50 states. The company offers a variety of fuel tank packages that can be side-frame mounted or placed behind the cabin, based on customer needs and body types.
“Our system is completely tested and has undergone [testing under] extreme conditions to ensure product durability and road validation,” Greenkraft sales director Frank Ziegler said. Based on previous certifications, the Santa Ana, Calif. company has converted more than 250 Isuzu trucks to gaseous fuel operation using the 6.0-liter GM engine.
