February Propane Exports Decline, Imports Move Higher
Propane exports from the U.S. dipped 4.5% in February to stand at 25,650,037 bbl, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), 1,194,945 bbl lower than the January total. Compared to the previous year, exports declined 0.3%, or 75,798 bbl, from the 25,574,239 bbl that left the nation’s shores.
Meanwhile, February butane exports, at 1,470,620 bbl, were down a sharp 44.9%, or 1,198,685 bbl, from January and were 9.3%, or 151,006 bbl, lower than last year.
February propane imports to the U.S. rose 3.9%, or 216,742 bbl, for the month and stood at 5,754,372 bbl. Compared to the prior year, imports were up a steep 40.9%, or 1,670,493 bbl. Butane imports, at 151,913 bbl, also
advanced, climbing 11.2%, or 15,312 bbl, month over month and a whopping 159.4%, or 93,350 bbl, for the year.
