Equipment Dealers View Propane As Proven Mower Fuel Alternative
Outdoor power equipment dealers find propane-powered commercial mowers more favorably than comparable electric mowers, according to a recent survey conducted by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). Among the more than 125 individuals who participated in the poll, electric mowers had 30% less favorability than propane models. The survey found that 96% of those responding also agreed that propane is a proven technology for mowers. “We know how important the relationship is between a landscape contractor and dealer, and how much influence dealers can have,” said Jeremy Wishart, director of off-road business development at PERC. “Knowing that dealers see propane as a proven alternative fuel for commercial mowers is encouraging as more contractors look for ways to distance themselves from the high emissions and…Read More →: Equipment Dealers View Propane As Proven Mower Fuel Alternative -
PERC Presents Propane Leadership Awards To Landscaper, Outdoor Equipment Advocates
The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) recently presented its annual Propane Leadership Awards to a Texas-based equipment dealer and an Oregon landscape contractor. For the third consecutive year, the council presented one outdoor power equipment dealer and one commercial landscaper with the award, which recognizes those in the landscape industry who advocate propane equipment. “Both Pacific Landscape Management and Austin Turf & Tractor have done considerable work in bringing awareness of the benefits of…Read More →: PERC Presents Propane Leadership Awards To Landscaper, Outdoor Equipment Advocates -
Propane Council Giving Away Loaded Equipment Trailer At GIE+EXPO
WASHINGTON (September 24, 2018) – Contractors who visit booth No. 7094 at the GIE+EXPO (Green Industry & Equipment Expo) can enter their name into a drawing for a chance to win a tricked-out 16-foot Big Tex trailer loaded up with an Exmark propane-powered mower, tools, and accessories from the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). The trailer is central to PERC’s 2018 booth theme that showcases how propane equipment can help a contractor’s business over the long haul. “We’ve seen time and again that once a landscape contractor tries propane equipment for the first time, they don’t turn back,” said Jeremy Wishart, director of off-road business development for PERC. “Propane offers contractors so many long-term business benefits, including lower fuel costs, a cleaner operation, and…Read More →: Propane Council Giving Away Loaded Equipment Trailer At GIE+EXPO -
Hundreds Sign Up for Listing on Propane Equipment Dealer Database
Washington, DC (May 3, 2017) — In just six months, nearly 500 outdoor power equipment dealers have been added to Propane Equipment Dealer Point. The free, searchable, online database, located at propane.com/dealer-point, allows landscape contractors to find local, knowledgeable dealers committed to selling propane-fueled mowers. The tool was launched last summer by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). “That so many applications were submitted in such a short time shows that dealers see the value of being listed in the database as a way to drive more customers through their doors while differentiating their product offerings from the surrounding competition,” said Jeremy Wishart, PERC deputy director of business development. “Plus, contractors now have a way to easily find a local dealer who can provide…Read More →: Hundreds Sign Up for Listing on Propane Equipment Dealer Database -
Great Smoky Mountains National Park Adds Propane Vehicles, Equipment and Dispensers To Strengthen National Park Initiative
Gatlinburg, TN (April 5, 2017) – Great Smoky Mountains National Park hosted a celebration yesterday to unveil two new propane fueling stations and six new propane‐fueled trucks at the Park Headquarters Maintenance Facility near Gatlinburg, Tenn. With the new pieces of alternative fuel equipment, the Smokies implemented a new facet of the park’s Climate Friendly Parks program through funding from a joint U.S. Departments of Interior (DOI) and Energy (DOE) initiative called the “Clean Cities National Park Initiative.” The new equipment helps the park leave a smaller carbon footprint. In partnership with its two neighboring DOE “Clean Cities” coalitions, the East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition and the Land of Sky Clean Vehicles Coalition, the park installed two propane fueling systems and added 6 new pieces of…Read More →: Great Smoky Mountains National Park Adds Propane Vehicles, Equipment and Dispensers To Strengthen National Park Initiative -
Survey Findings Report Propane Equipment Receives High Marks From Golf Course Superintendents
WASHINGTON (February 8, 2017) – Final survey data from an equipment demonstration program shows golf maintenance equipment powered by propane can dramatically reduce emissions while saving superintendents money through lower fuel and maintenance costs compared to similar equipment powered by traditional fuels. “Propane scored really well with the superintendents and, possibly just as important, with their operators and service technicians,” said Jeremy Wishart, deputy director of business development at the Propane Education & Research Council. “They got to see firsthand that propane has some incredible environmental, financial, and operational benefits.” The Propane Education & Research Council’s Golf Demo Program tested propane maintenance equipment at eight high-profile golf courses for up to a year from 2015 to 2016. In return for the equipment, each course recorded…Read More →: Survey Findings Report Propane Equipment Receives High Marks From Golf Course Superintendents -
H&H Sales Celebrates 65 Years Keeping Up With Propane Equipment Trends
It sounds like a simple slogan: “Custom Truck Bodies and Equipment.” But those words are important to H&H Sales Co. (Huntertown, Ind.), which recently celebrated its 65th anniversary. The company, started by Lynn Harlan and Ted Brindle in 1951 as H&H Equipment Co., builds vehicles to just about any configuration. That seems to fit the modern times in which people are seeking products customized to their exact needs. “We don’t just build cookie cutter-type bodies and equipment,” explained John Hawkins, CEO of H&H. “Everything has been so specialized over the years, and a lot of customers have relied on us to take a body style that might be standard for someone else, tweak that, and build it to meet their needs.” H&H sells crane service…Read More →: H&H Sales Celebrates 65 Years Keeping Up With Propane Equipment Trends -
Recent Survey Reports Bright Future For Commercial Propane Landscape Equipment
WASHINGTON (September 1, 2016) – Within three years, more than half of outdoor power equipment dealers will be offering commercial propane mowers to their landscape contractor customers, according to a recent survey commissioned by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). The survey, conducted by an independent research firm, Wiese Research Associates, found that a quarter of outdoor power equipment dealers currently sell propane mower models and conversion services. But when dealers were asked if they expected to offer propane models within the next three years, that figure increased to 60 percent. “One out of four dealers currently differentiate themselves from surrounding dealerships by offering commercial propane mowers to their customers, but we were really excited to see the expected increase in availability of propane…Read More →: Recent Survey Reports Bright Future For Commercial Propane Landscape Equipment -
