Agility Fuel Solutions Receives EPA Approval For V-8 Propane Engine

(January 30, 2019) — Agility Fuel Solutions (Costa Mesa, Calif.), a global provider of alternative fuel solutions for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, has received Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval for its 488LPI 8.0-liter, V-8 propane engine. The engine has been certified for sale through December 2019.

The 488LPI uses Agility Fuel Solutions’ patented liquid propane injection technology and is assembled in the company’s Salisbury, N.C. plant on a base General Motors long-block V-8, with proprietary dress parts, propane injection system, and controls.

The 488LPI engine is used in school bus, propane bobtail, and medium-duty truck applications. A ver- sion of the power plant is available on the Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner C2 school bus.

Agility Fuel Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hexagon Composites ASA (Alesund, Norway). Its product offerings include natural gas, hydrogen, and battery-electric energy storage and delivery systems.
