20th Anniversary of Propane Education & Research Council (PERC)

Twenty years ago, on October 11, 1996, with the swipe of a pen, President William Jefferson Clinton signed into law legislation authorizing the National Propane Education and Research Council (PERC). This capped an impressive, three-year bipartisan grass-roots effort that made many members of Congress aware of the propane industry for the first time. The Propane Education & Research Council was founded as an industry check-off program with the passage of the Propane Education and Research Act (PERA) in 1996.

October 2016 issue chronicles PERC’s 20-year history, provides exclusive coverage of the Council’s evolution, and an overview of the various safety, education, and research and development projects that PERC has accomplished over these past two decades.
