Crude oil and natural gas production as reported to the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) for May 2020 came from 170,718 oil wells and 86,469 gas wells.
RRC reports that from June 2019 to May 2020, total Texas reported production was 1.5 Bbbl of crude oil and 10.4 Tcf of total gas. Crude oil production reported by the RRC is limited to oil produced from oil leases and does not include condensate, which RRC reports separately.

Volumes, according to RRC data: Product: Crude oil; Preliminary reported total volume: 91,062,814 bbl; Average daily production: 2,937,510 bbl. Product: Natural Gas; Preliminary reported total volume: 734,645,548 mcf; Average daily production: 23,698,243 mcf. (It is noted that these are preliminary figures based on production volumes reported by operators and will be updated as late and corrected production reports are received.)

May 2019 Statewide Production, according to RCC data: Crude oil; Updated reported total volume: 132,112,169 bbl; Updated average daily production: 4,261,683 bbl; Preliminary reported total volume; 101,897,854 bbl; Preliminary average daily production; 3,287,028 bbl. Product: Natural Gas; Updated reported total volume: 871,818,670 mcf; Updated average daily production: 28,123,183 mcf ; Preliminary reported total volume; 704,514,055 mcf; Preliminary average daily production; 22,726,260 mcf.
